We are building a Community Bond to put capital directly into the hands of Black entrepreneurs across Ontario. It's not live yet — but we're asking: are you in?
The Problem
They're building real businesses — real customers, real revenue, real potential. And still, the system turns them away. Not because their businesses don't work. Because the system was never built for them.
86% of Black-owned businesses operate with fewer than 5 employees. They're locked out of the networks that move capital, and routinely declined by lenders who don't know how to see them. The result is a ceiling that hard work alone can't break through.
"The problem isn't your business — it's that no one has shown you the clear path to funding readiness, the right network, and capital built for your stage."
86% of Black-owned businesses have fewer than 5 employees — limiting access to capital, contracts, and investor confidence.
Difficulty attracting and retaining skilled staff creates a ceiling that limits growth and scale.
Overrepresentation in professional services with thin margins and limited paths to diversification.
Structural inequities in access to capital, credit histories, and the networks that make funding move.
What ACBN Does
The Afro Caribbean Business Network connects Black entrepreneurs of African and Caribbean heritage to the clarity, community, and capital they need to grow — through microloans, loan readiness programs, weekly mentorship Drop-Ins, and a network that reaches 30,000+ entrepreneurs across Ontario.
Our structured pathway takes entrepreneurs from funding-ineligible to loan-ready — and from $1,000 microloans all the way to $250,000+ in commercial financing through our partner network.
